In the triple digits F heat, not much I want to talk about really.
But I am proud of sewing new hippie skirts for the patchwork loving mamas out there.
A welcome break from crocheting tams every day. (I still make them in the evening, but sewing during the day). With many sun tea breaks:)
Both patchwork skirts are for sale at my Purple Sage Designz website. They are made partially with recycled fabrics, an eco-friendly choice.
These skirt themes are already in queue:
Groove Beach skirt
Indigo Blues Patchwork skirt

(A solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice each year, when the tilt of the Earth's axisSun, causing the Sun's apparent position in the sky to reach its northernmost or southernmost extreme. The name is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), because at the solstices, the Sun stands still in declination; that is, the apparent movement of the Sun's path north or south comes to a stop before reversing direction. The term solstice can also be used in a wider sense, as the date (day) when this occurs. The solstices, together with the equinoxes, are connected with the seasons. In some cultures they are considered to start or separate the seasons while in others they fall in the middle. The English expressions "midwinter" (winter solstice) and "midsummer" (summer solstice) may derive from a tradition according to which there were only two seasons: winter and summer.)
One of my favorite books in the 80s was "The Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradley.
A mixture of the King Arthur myth, the sacred feminine in nature religions and fantasy.
What a better time then midsummer to dive back into mythology and fiction.
I have more 80s bestsellers on my reading short list: Jean M. Auel
Before the internet I was a book worm. Finally I am discovering the joy of reading a real book in bed again. No tv, no radio, just me and my imagination about the fictive characters.

A few words about the SEO issue on Etsy...resolved! It took some rioting and protesting in the cyber streets, but the unfortunate changes have been taken back and we sellers are slowly going back to normal with google search results.
And showing off my newest hats: thick cotton structured tams, but yet cool for the hot months as they have built in air condition...just kidding, but they have gaps for air to flow.
Just listed at Purple Sage Designz.
And a new heather grey slouchy beanie available in my Etsy shop.

I had my 2nd year anniversary this June, to be precise.
But there is no reason to celebrate.
With the changes made to my titles which will be crawled by the search engine bots, all my listings have significantly dropped in search priority.
"Handmade accessories on Etsy -
This is the new look of my most precious real estate on the net now.
I did not add Handmade accessories on Etsy - , it was added by Etsy.com
and the - is another addition that this venue (where I pay duely my fees) has stuck into MY title, to add yet another character (which the search engine doesn't like) into my title.
Now imagine that all hat makers, scarf knitters, any accessory creator have the same title beginning
"handmade accessories on Etsy -".
Not only are our listings considered spammy now, but the length of our titles has been artificially lengthened and are not properly read by google anymore.
I have been vocal in the Etsy forums, but no definite answer has been given if this will be reversed.
So, kind people, if you wonder why I don't show on searches with my Etsy shop anymore, that's why.

Wow, I am not often in treasuries and so I was very surprised to get notice of this collection including my long tam.
I love the hippie/BOHO chic of all the wearable art that has been chosen.
Thank you, curator woolcrazy!

I was not sure how to title today's post.
Funny thing is the events of the recent days gave me Summer Blues, sort of.
A crocheter's nightmare is when heat keeps people from even thinking about tam hats.
Or is it the new search which has been introduced on Etsy recently which made my sales almost non-existent?
Teaming this latest development with a variety of blue tams I feel like the "Summer Blues" are here:)
My all time favorite color has always been blue, followed by green. But yet I have never made a whole lot of blue hats, don't know why.
Recently I worked with a lot of blue shaded yarns and when I started to take pictures yesterday, I noticed how many I had made in blue.
Available in my Etsy shop, on Artfire and on my Purple Sage Designz website.
